As a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of high voltage (HV) networks. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and executing switching operations in compliance with industry standards and company procedures. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the network, permissions, and providing technical expertise to support our projects.
Job location: Head office in Hedge End, Southampton and regional hubs in Bristol and Ashford
The role will be responsible for:
• Execute high voltage switching operations and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team during critical operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and network improvements.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Qualifications and experience:
• Hold valid SSE authorisations as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
• Extensive experience in high voltage electrical systems and switching operations.
• Proven track record of working in a similar role within industry.
• Strong commitment to safety standards and protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work in varied environments and schedules.
