Staff, customers, and partners at Southampton-based Connect It Utility Services (CIUS) came together this Christmas to raise funds for a cause close to home, supporting two food banks in the process.
The company’s record-breaking Christmas raffle raised over £1,000, enabling the donation of multiple trolleys of essential food, drinks, and toiletries to The Food Centre – Hedge End and Hope City – Weston.
“This is something we look forward to every year,” said Laban Giles, Managing Director. “It’s our way of making a positive impact and giving back to the communities where we work and live.”
Traditionally focused on supporting The Food Centre – Hedge End, the success of this year’s raffle allowed CIUS to extend their support to Hope City – Weston, which operates under the same charitable organisation.
Items donated included tinned meat, pasta, rice, noodles, UHT milk, and other staples essential for families in need, split equally between the two food banks.
The raffle was held at the company’s headquarters, Foundation House, on 19th December 2024.
Prizes included luxury hampers, signed football shirts, overnight hotel stays, race day tickets, an iPad, theatre tickets, and more, generously donated by CIUS’s customers, suppliers, and partners.
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our team and partners,” Laban continued. “The raffle brought everyone together and allowed us to make a real difference for those who need it most.”
